The Moore League champs trailed 4-0, but rallied for eight sixth-inning runs to stun the Diablos, 8-4, Friday evening in the first round of the CIF-Southern Section Division I playoffs at Blair Field. The Rams’ win staved off a dreaded Moore League sweep in the first round, as Poly, Lakewood, and Wilson all got bounced on the road earlier in the day.

Jordan got its first hit of the day off Millikan starter Josh Frye in the sixth inning. By that time, it was too late. The Rams (11-0) stayed undefeated in the Moore League with a 4-0 win over the Panthers (4-7) at Blair Field on Tuesday.

It was late March and the Millikan baseball team was 2-6. It looked as though the Rams would be anything but a factor in the Moore League. But Josh Frye and Andrew Culver opened league play by blanking Poly and Wilson, respectively, and the Rams have not looked back.
